Key to the Delta range is the incorporation of the remarkable Reflexion^TM foam on all patient contact surface areas combined with the option of different pressure relieving seat modules depending on individual user's pressure management requirements.

From the highly advanced Intelligel seat module for those at very high risk of developing pressure problems through to the Transflo gel cushion and Reflexion foam seat modules for those at medium to high risk. Indeed the flexibility of the Delta range as with the majority of the specialist seating portfolio enables users to either integrate their own pressure relieving seat cushion into the seat module of the chair or apply a flat seat board upon which it can be effectively used.

Contributing further comfort and support the Delta range now has the option of either the Advanced Comfort Backrest incorporating the highly acclaimed Reflexion foam or an entire Reflexion foam backrest that moulds itself to the contours of the user to help disperse body weight more evenly over a greater surface area.

Furthermore, the Delta has the ability to easily adjust the tilt-in-space positioning to facilitate ultimate pressure management without over-exertion by the carer or indeed the user. With the option of either gas action or electrically powered adjustments positioning is effortless, whilst with Regulated Motion the tilt-in-space movement continuously changes.

What is Tilt-in-Space?

Tilt-in-space is a unique pivoting system that provides a reclined resting position whilst maintaining posture and pelvic stability.

Why is it so important?

Keeping the angle between the chair seat and back at 110° eliminates the potential to slide forward into an uncomfortable position. Weight is distributed over a larger contact surface area, reducing the shearing forces on the skin, making it a simple yet effective way to combat the build up of pressure.

Combining the effectiveness of tilt-in-space with the choice of pressure management seat options and the highly acclaimed Reflexion^TM pressure relieving foam on all patient contact surface areas aids pressure care management considerably. Incorporation of Reflexion^TM means the foam moulds itself to the contours of the user to help disperse body weight more evenly over a wider surface area avoiding localised interface pressures on the critical parts of the body subjected to compression and possible tissue damage. In addition the use of the multi-directional, vapour permeable Dartex upholstery material complements the pressure relieving characteristics as well as providing added comfort.
